PERCY EVERARD
? 04 November 1886 - July 1914

Eldest son of Arthur Everard and Kate Cooper. Musician and photographer

OBITUARY - NORTHAMPTON INDEPENDENT 01 AUGUST 1914

The death of Mr. Percy Everard Klitz at the early age of 27 has cut short a career of exceptional promise. He was the eldest son of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Everard Klitz with whom the greatest sympathy has been extended in their sad loss from a large circle for he had endeared himself to hosts of friends by his many high qualities.

He inherited his father's musical enthusiasm and rendered valuable service as second violin in the St. Cecilia Orchestral Society.

A good French scholar, he was associated with the French Literary Society, and as a member of the Northampton Photographic Society he developed considerable proficiency in photography, several of his pictures having from time to time appeared in the pages of the "Independent".

As a swimmer he also distinguished himself, and held both the silver and bronze medals of the Life Saving Society.

For three years he was in the Northamptonshire Yeomanry, but he had to give up through ill health. Two years ago he took a voyage to Australia, but derived no great benefit, and since his return his health continued to decline.

The funeral took place at the Cemetery on the Sunday morning following a service in St. Giles' Church which was largely attended. It was conducted by the Rev. T. A. Gurney (Vicar) and the Choir was in attendance.
